I tried, but it didnt work because my browsers (firefox and chrome) didnt support the newest flash. Repackaged, without Unix directory structures and without implied eCS 2.x or ArcaOS 5.x requirements, like 7Z, of the main Firefox 45 for eCS 2.x DE/EN and ArcaOS 5.x EN distribution.
FIREFOX OS X 10.4.11 UPDATE
no USB3 and Thunderbolt on Mini-Display Port connector that no one else will use, etc. Sometime in 2012, Adobe Flash asked me to update it. Maybe they can go back to cooperative multi-tasking (iOS’s piddly multitasking isn’t much better) and bring Apple networking back and every other thing they seem to like to do to isolate the Mac from real computers (e.g. Instead, iOS is being integrated back into OSX (App store added, so they can get their 30% of gross profits of ALL developers for the OSX platform), LaunchPad is slowly going to replace the Finder for a more ‘iOS’ feel to OSX (and one day will probably mean App store only for software thus removing all competition to Apple brand software no Firefox at all, for example) and turning the Mac into a giant turd once again like it was in the OS9 days. The typical reason that many users stay on Tiger (or Leopard) is that they have a PPC processor, which cant go beyond 10.5.8 (Leopard), where TenFourFox would be a good choice - and close to up-to-date for many uses.

The latter can be shown the lack of progress in OSX (Lion) proper such as no OpenGL 4.x, still no resolution independent display despite support being announced clear back in Tiger, ancient graphic drivers that never get updated and therefore run games available on both platforms at 1/2 to 1/3 the speed of same hardware in Windows (not updating OpenGL doesn’t help either), etc. Step 1 - upgrade your system to Snow Leopard, so you have a chance to run some newer browsers.
Apple has no soul anymore and Steve Jobs only cares about smart phones these days.

They didn’t have to remove PPC support from XCode (which effectively makes it a nightmare for newer software to easily include PPC support) and thus Apple shows its contempt for users of old machines, proving they only care about making more money trying to force you to upgrade your hardware even if it works fine for your needs. Last version to run on OS X Mavericks, OS X Yosemite and OS X El Capitan Mozilla Firefox 79.x 79.0a1 - 79.0 Mozilla Firefox 80.x 80.0a1 - 80.0 Mozilla Firefox 81.x.
I put most of the blame on Apple, though. They’ll continue to support WinXP, though (from 2001 era). I understand the author sent the finished JIT compiler back to the Firefox team (which solves 1 of their 2 given reasons why they can’t be bothered to support PPC) and they apparently don’t care since it was all just a bunch of BS excuses to save them some work.
The “Furb” builds keep acceleration intact and should feel much faster overall, although TenFour has a finished Javascript JIT compiler working and so it will do Javascript much faster (over 2x faster).

In other words, it will run like crap on newer (10.5 capable) PPC Macs (or ones upgraded to that status I have ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and 1.8GHz 7448 G4 here) that support hardware acceleration and Core Animation. I also tried using the optimized version for iBook G4, but it said that it couldn't run on my problem is that TenFourFox is designed for the author’s own personal use and is therefore made to run on 10.4 without newer 10.5 features, namely hardware acceleration. I think it's the quality of the video that is causing the lag, even though DVDs play at very good quality.
FIREFOX OS X 10.4.11 360P
My internet isn't good enough to play anything about 360p, so I don't go above that, but I really would like to be able to use 360p instead of 240p, if possible. It had occasional lag, but generally it was good. Just a heads up, I was able to get 240p playing fine in OmniWeb. Strangely enough, my system can play DVDs at full-screen with no problem whatsoever.ĭoes anyone know of any good, lightweight, web browsers (or alternatively, a way that I can get Youtube working within TenFourFox 24?) I'm also downloading the iBook optimized Firefox 4.0 to try that out (though that seems a little outdated, seeing as the newest version is about 20 versions newer.) I've read over this thread: and it suggests changing the power to Best Performance, turning off hardware acceleration, and upping the Flash cache size to 10MB, all of which I have done. Both the frée and premium sérvice streams in 320 kbps, where you have to pay for Spotify to get that. I have an iBook G4 running OS X 10.4.11 and I really would like to watch youtube videos, but it is very choppy and generally impossible to watch!
